A high school student was arrested Tuesday for allegedly raping a college student in the Bronx.
According to police, 18-year-old Kevin Convery, of Wyckoff, New Jersey, is facing a long list of charges, including rape, forcible touching and sexual abuse, for raping a Manhattan College freshman in her dorm room.
Investigators say that Convery met the victim at an All-American Rejects concert on April 25 and raped her later that night. The criminal complaint states that the victim told Convery multiple times that she did not want to have sex.
Officials with Manhattan College say the incident was reported the day it happened, and assistance was provided to the student and her family. It added, "Our immediate concern in such instances is the health and safety of the student, and we continue to cooperate fully with the New York Police Department."
Convery appeared in court and was released on his own recognizance. He's due back again in late June.
