A Bronx man is demanding answers after his mother was hit by a car on Pelham Parkway more than a week ago.

Ben Rodriguez says his 83-year-old mother, Nerida Rios, is suffering from a broken pelvis. She was struck by a car on Aug. 10 at Pelham Parkway and Bronxwood Avenue.

Rios was taken to Jacobi Hospital. Her family says that the driver stayed on the scene, but they were shocked to find out no police report was filed.

Rodriguez says he tried to go to the NYPD 49th precinct to file a report and has called 911 several times. He says no officers have shown up at the hospital or spoken to his mother in 10 days.

News 12 did reach out to the NYPD to see if they're investigating the case.

Sources say that when police got to the scene of the crash, there was no one there. They say they tried to give the person who called 911 a call back, but that person, who wanted to remain anonymous, didn't answer.
