A noise call led police to a woman's body in her Riverdale apartment Thursday, and her roommate has been charged with the crime.
Neighbors at 5900 Arlington Ave. called after a man who rented a room from Linda Jiminez, 54, threw her belongings out of a window. Officers say they found Jiminez with a fatal stab wound to her chest when they arrived around 3:05 a.m. at her 11th-floor apartment.
Authorities later arrested the roommate, 51-year-old Anthony Silva. He is charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
Jiminez's friends say she sometimes took in "shady" people to help pay the bills. Neighbors believe that may have cost Jiminez her life, saying Silva seemed to be emotionally disturbed.
