An apartment building in Norwood was engulfed by flames this morning, with firefighters responding to the scene after midnight, according FDNY officials.
Footage from Citizen App showed the severity of the fire at the corner of East Gun Hill Road and Hull Avenue. FDNY received reports of smoke, which led them to the scene.
Firefighters were able to douse the flames within 30 minutes, successfully preventing the fire from spreading to neighboring buildings.
Despite the severity of the fire, no injuries have been reported. All residents of the building appear to have evacuated safely before the fire department's arrival.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
The FDNY continues to investigate the incident and will conduct a thorough examination of the building once it's deemed safe for entry.
