A Washingtonville grandfather is raising safety concerns about a stretch of Craigville Road in Goshen—where he says children playing at nearby Little League fields are just feet from traffic, with no guardrails in place.
Michael Graziano noticed the issue while watching his grandchildren play at Myron Urbanski Memorial Park. He worries a vehicle could leave the roadway and drive into the area where children are playing.

“Not only my grandkids, but all the kids that play there… distracted driver, alcohol—whatever it is—it’s a problem,” Graziano said.

News 12 observed that guardrails are installed along another portion of Craigville Road near the park’s tennis courts—but not along the stretch in front of the Little League fields.
Graziano says he previously contacted the Orange County Department of Public Works but has not seen any action taken.
A representative for the Goshen Little League says the park is owned and maintained by the Joint Recreation Committee and will review the matter with them to coordinate with town and county officials as needed.
"Safety is of the utmost importance to us, and we take any potential issue of this nature very seriously. We always encourage anyone with safety concerns to report them directly to the board so they can be addressed promptly," a spokesperson for the committee wrote.
News 12 has reached out to Orange County officials for information on whether this area has been evaluated for safety improvements and is awaiting a response.
