Bronx Borough Hall and other buildings across New York City on Tuesday remembered the lives lost to the coronavirus.
New York City was just one of the places around the country participating in the first nationwide COVID-19 memorial. The Brooklyn Army Terminal also participated in the event.
“As we remember those we’ve lost to COVID-19, we must also remember that the strength and unity of our people has always helped us prevail,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio.
The memorial is part of the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.
