The upcoming storm is already forcing cancellations and closures in New York City this weekend. The city is currently taking all precautions when it comes to the storm.
Most recently, the TD Five Boro Bike tour originally scheduled for Sunday will be postponed to Aug. 29.
New York City Parks announced that all city beaches will be closed to swimming this Sunday and Monday due to potentially dangerous conditions.
The MTA is cautioning New Yorkers that they should avoid unnecessary travel. Also, starting Friday night, empty and tandem trailers will be banned on bridges and tunnels.
The Department of Buildings is reminding all builders, contractors and crane operators to properly secure their sites and equipment.
