New York City Comptroller Brad Lander is heading to trial after pleading not guilty to misdemeanor charges of trespassing and blocking federal operations.

Investigators say he was arrested in September when he and other officials tried to access detention cells following an ICE protest in Manhattan.

A judge released Lander, who is awaiting trial proceedings.
