The Food and Drug Administration's approval of the COVID-19
vaccine came on Friday as positive cases reached a high point across New York
City.
COVID-19 cases in the city have risen to a 6.26% rolling
average positivity rate.
The Trump administration says millions of vaccine doses are
being shipped right away and that they are planning on buying another 100
million doses of Moderna's vaccine.
To ease any doubts or concerns surrounding the vaccine, Dr.
Fauci says he will be getting vaccinated publicly.
The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines have shown to be about 95%
effective. Pfizer's must be stored in freezers as cold as negative 94 degrees.
Health experts say millions of people nationwide could be
vaccinated within the next few days.
Some city residents who were waiting on line to
get tested for COVID-19 told News 12 that they're anxiously awaiting the day
they can get vaccinated and are counting on the vaccine to be a saving grace.
