The New York City Department of Correction has a new commissioner - Lynelle Maginley-Liddie. 

Mayor Eric Adams appointed Lidie to the position on Friday. She is the second Black woman to ever hold the seat. 

Liddie has served within the DOC for eight years, most recently as the first deputy commissioner and chief diversity officer.
