New York City Emergency Management issued a travel advisory to help people navigate messy travel conditions ahead of the work week.
Officials suggest using mass transit instead of driving Monday. They also say residents should leave the house earlier than normal.
Both streets and roads remain slippery, so commuters are urged to be careful whether they are walking or driving. The New York City Transit Authority says employees will drop salt on platforms and stairs to clear them for pedestrians traveling Monday.
There was a mix of snow and rain earlier in the afternoon Sunday and a coating of snow on cars and roads as well. The rain has washed most of it away as of 9 p.m., but after a night of rain, there's a chance for more snow on Monday.
Alternate side parking is suspended on Monday.
Con Edison says to report any power outages as soon as possible. Crews are prepared to handle the outages caused by wind gusts.
Con Edison urges residents to not touch any fallen wires or power lines but rather call Con Ed or the police.
