The “Pathways to Excellence” designation recognizes the hospital for making its nurses feel valued and enhancing the quality of care for patients. Earning it requires a rigorous three yearlong evaluation process ensuring the hospital meets the program's standards.
Jennifer Otero, a registered nurse at the hospital for three years, says the hospital experienced its darkest hours during the height of the pandemic. Even during that stressful time, she says hospital executives quickly understood the needs of the staff.
"They swooped in with wellness carts, they swooped in with licensed social workers and therapists and counselors, and created wellness activities that kept us together,” said Otero.
