NYC officials help homeless stay warm
City crews are helping the homeless stay warm Wednesday during below freezing temperatures.
More than 100 homeless people were taken off the street and given a place to stay Monday into Tuesday. Some say they waited outside the Path Homeless Shelter on East 151 Street Tuesday to secure a spot to sleep.
Mayor Bill De Blasio issued a code blue warning across New York City. He urged city residents to call 311 if they see anyone in need.
City officials will be conducting its annual Homeless Outreach Population estimate on Monday, Jan. 25. They will be going around the city, counting and helping the homeless.
