NYC officials mark 100,000th pothole filled in pothole blitz campaign

It marks the highest number of potholes filled in the first 100 days of a year in more than a decade.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani is marking a milestone for his pothole blitz initiative.

The mayor filled the city’s 100,000th pothole at Olympia Boulevard on Staten Island Monday morning.

It marks the highest number of potholes filled in the first 100 days of a year in more than a decade.

The Department of Transportation is now shifting into its seasonal spring repaving program. It plans to smooth out more than 1,100 miles throughout the five boroughs this year.

Gov. Kathy Hochul is launching a similar program for the state. The Hochul administration plans on eliminating more than 44,000 potholes by the end of this week and 175,000 by the end of April with more to follow through the year.
