The city is urging Bronx residents to protect themselves from the unforgiving summer heat by taking advantage of the city's many cooling centers.
They say residents should avoid the sun all together and strenuous outdoor activity.
However, if you have to be outside they recommend putting on sunscreen.
City officials say while you are inside that you should use an air conditioner and set your thermostat no lower than 78 degrees.
If you don't have AC, use a fan but it will only work best at night.
For a list of cooling centers in the Bronx, go to the city's website NYC.gov and click on the 'find a cooling center' tab then type in your address and a list of nearby centers will pop up.
The city says while we experience temperatures like these, be sure to check on your elderly neighbors and make sure they are OK.
Also, take care of yourself and drink lots of water.
