About a million public school students will return to classes this week.
Some told News 12 they were excited, others not so much.
Even some Bronx parents went to Orchard Beach to mark the end of summer without thinking too much about school.
"This is my one week of vacation of the year," one father told News 12. "I decided to take it this week, and tomorrow is my birthday."
