NYC set to receive thousands of doses of Moderna's coronavirus vaccine
Shipments of Moderna's coronavirus vaccine will be rolling out today, with the first doses expected to arrive Monday.
Moderna's shipment comes after Pfizer's coronavirus vaccine began being distributed around a week ago.
Both vaccines are more than 94% effective and two doses are needed to protect against the coronavirus.
Experts, however, say Moderna's vaccine is easier to handle because it can be stored in a standard refrigerator. Pfizer's vaccine must be stored in an ultra-cold freezer.
Around 6 million doses of Moderna's vaccine will be distributed across the country, with about 346,000 doses set to arrive in New York this week.
