NYC, Universal Hip-Hop Museum team up to celebrate 12 months of hip-hop

2023 marks the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, and music legends took over City Hall Monday in honor of the upcoming anniversary.

2023 marks the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, and music legends took over City Hall Monday in honor of the upcoming anniversary.
To celebrate, the city is partnering up with the Universal Hip-Hop Museum to launch 12 months of activities highlighting five decades of hip-hop culture and its influence on society.
Several educational facilities, including libraries, will be involved in the 50th anniversary celebration. The Universal Hip-Hop Museum in the Bronx, the birthplace of the genre, is slated to officially open to the public in 2024.
