Officials from the New York City Housing Authority and representatives of Betances Senior Center met today to discuss the future of the center after roof issues caused it to close down.
The Mott Haven center had to be temporarily shut down because of a leaking roof. About two months ago, the center moved over to Maria Isabel Housing on East 149th Street.
NYCHA officials told News 12 The Bronx that repairs are anticipated to begin within the next few weeks and that programs will resume at Betances' original location upon completion of the repairs.
