An NYCHA tenant says she’s been dealing with a leak in her apartment for close to seven years and that now she’s scared for her safety.
Lucy Serrano says she has lived in her NYCHA building on 167th Street for 50 years. She says there are several leaks in her apartment.
She says she’s tried to contact her building’s manager and that she’s filed 311 complaints.
When the building’s maintenance does come, she says they don’t actually fix the leak. She says she’s not the only one and that the tenant living just below her has the same issue.
Serrano says management blames the leak on the apartment directly above her, but that the tenant living there has never answered the door to let maintenance in.
News 12 reached out to NYCHA for a statement and hasn't heard back yet. News 12 emailed the building manager, Travis Abrams, and went to the management office but was told he was meeting.
