NYPD: 12-year-old boy slashed at Kingsbridge playground

Detectives say the two boys were playing basketball when one of the boys was losing and it escalated to an argument.

A 12-year-old boy was slashed by another teenage boy Saturday at the Marble Hill playground in Kingsbridge.
Police say it was over a game of basketball.
Citizen App video recorded the moment when an ambulance was at the scene of the incident.
Detectives say the two boys were playing basketball when one of the boys was losing and it escalated to an argument. That's when they say the teenage boy slashed the 12-year-old boy in the chest with an unknown object.
The boy was taken to the hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
News 12 spoke with some kids around the playground who said the game just got too heated. They said the victim appeared to be awake and stable when the ambulance took him away.
As for the boy accused in the slashing, police say he ran away from scene.
