NYPD: 16-year-old fatally shot around the corner from his Crown Heights home

A teenager is dead after being gunned down around the corner from his home in Crown Heights.

A teenager is dead after being gunned down around the corner from his home in Crown Heights.
Police say the shooter opened fire on a busy street Tuesday around 1 p.m.,  killing 16-year-old Tyquan Howard.
The 911 calls reported a shooting in front of 1550 Sterling Place, but police believe it actually happened in font of 1475 St. John’s Place.
Police say the teen was found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was rushed to the hospital where he was unfortunately pronounced dead. Investigators said he wasn’t able to give them much information in his final moments so there are still a lot of unanswered questions.
