NYPD: 17-year-old injured in Starlight Park weekend shooting; suspect at large

Police say the suspect was wearing a black and white face mask and holding a red bag.

Police are searching for the person responsible for shooting a 17-year-old boy in Starlight Park.

Police received a call of shots being fired on Sheridan Boulevard over the weekend. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered the 17-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his back.

He was immediately transported to a hospital where he's in stable condition.

Community members who enjoy going to Starlight Park told News 12 they are now concerned for their safety – even in broad daylight.

Police say the suspect was wearing a black and white face mask and holding a red bag. They say the suspect rode off on a bike with a large group of people.
