NYPD: 2 people shot in Crotona Park

A nearby Chevy sedan was discovered with at least five gunshots put into the side of the car.

Two people, a man and a woman, were shot in Crotona Park on Wednesday morning, according to the NYPD.

Officials say that the call for the shooting came in just before 6 a.m. First responders arrived at 1711 Hoe Ave. between East 173rd and East 174th streets and discovered the two victims.

The 34-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound in the back of his right shoulder, and the 39-year-old woman was found with a gunshot wound to her back. Both are in stable condition.

A nearby Chevy sedan was discovered with at least five gunshots put into the side of the car.

Police cannot currently confirm if the two suspects were targeted or the relationship between the two victims.
