The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in searching for two men who they said attacked a 35-year-old man on a subway platform in Pelham Gardens.
It happened shortly before 8 p.m. on Dec. 21 at the Gun Hill Road train station.
Police said the victim was waiting for the southbound 5 train when he was punched in the face and hit in the head with a glass bottle.
The NYPD released surveillance video of the two suspects jumping the subway turnstile, before they allegedly made their way to the train platform, assaulted the victim and then ran off.
The victim was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and is expected to survive.
Authorities described one suspect as 5 feet, 5 inches tall and about 35 to 45 years old. He was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket, black hooded sweatshirt and black sneakers.
The second suspect is described as 6 feet tall and wearing a red sweater, black vest, tan pants and black sneakers.
“We just need more police being in the area as they need to be, like on the train,” said Steve Clark, a subway rider.
