Police say five people were gunned down in East Flatbush, and the moment it happened was caught on camera.
News 12 is told the victims were actually attending a vigil for someone who had recently passed away when gunfire erupted.
Video released by the NYPD Tuesday night, shows the corner of Sterling Street and Brooklyn Avenue. Two people can be seen shooting down the street. Both of them have hoods up over their heads and take off running immediately after. Police say they struck five people, three women and two men.
All five are expected to survive. However, community leaders say enough is enough and they want more resources invested into the community to try and avoid situations like this.
Investigators tell News 12 they are still searching for the two people seen in the surveillance video firing the guns.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
