Nearly 60 vehicles were seized on the Whitestone Bridge this week during a ghost car and toll evasion bust conducted by the NYPD and MTA.
Authorities say this was the 12th recent operation aiming to combat ghost cars and toll evaders.
The operations have resulted in 171 total arrests and over 700 cars being taken off the street.
Police say officers look for violations such as unpaid tolls, unregistered cars and suspended licenses as the vehicles cross the bridge.
The MTA says they have been able to recover almost 100% of the tolls owed to them since their operations began.
