Police have identified the person who was fatally struck by a truck in Morrisania Monday as 59-year-old Desiree Decosta.

The incident happened on Franklin Avenue between East 168th and East 169th streets around 9 a.m.

Witnesses told News 12 it appeared Decosta was leaving a bodega with groceries. Her neighbors said this was a daily occurrence.

Witnesses said the 59-year-old was crossing the street at the crosswalk on 169th Street when she was struck.
