Police charged seven teenagers in connection with the alleged gang assault of a 14-year-old in Hunts Point Wednesday afternoon.
Surveillance video helped police identify and arrest the suspects, aged between 13 and 15 years old, according to officials. A school officer at the Bronx Studio School of Writers and Artists recognized them in the recording.
The victim, an eighth-grader at Entrada Academy, says he did not know the attackers who jumped him and his friends on East 163rd Street.
"They were trying to hurt me real bad," the victim tells News 12.
He says the group threw him against a glass barbershop door as they beat him. One blow struck him in the eye, but he says he escaped when the door swung open.
One of the barbers opened the door and pulled the teen to safety, according to the victim's father.
