The body of a man missing since attending a concert in Brooklyn on Saturday was found in Newtown Creek, the NYPD says.
A large police presence gathered at the creek around 11:30 a.m. where the body was discovered. The body was identified as 27-year-old John Castic.
NYPD Harbor units aboard a small raft took Castic's body away and out of the water just before 1 p.m. near the vicinity of 1100 Grand St.
News 12's Faith Graham was on the scene earlier today as NYPD Harbor units worked to remove the body:
Castic was last seen attending a concert at the Brooklyn Mirage, a venue less than a half-mile from where the body was found in the water. According to police, the missing man was last seen at around 3 a.m. Saturday.
The medical examiner is now working to determine the cause of death.
