The NYPD says that it has charged a Brooklyn man with murder in this weekend's slashings on the A train.
Police say 21-year-old Rigoberto Lopez, of Brooklyn, was arrested Sunday.
He has been charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder.
Officers say they found a knife on him when he was arrested, and that the knife was used in the attacks.
Police say Lopez has four prior arrests on his record, including possession of a controlled substance, assault of a police officer, criminal content and criminal assault.
He was charged with hitting an NYPD officer in 2019.
