Columbia student dead in Morningside Heights double stabbing

A 30-year-old Columbia University student was stabbed at the corner of 123rd Street and Amsterdam Avenue at around 10:54 p.m. He was pronounced dead at Mt. Sinai-St. Luke’s Hospital.

Police say two men were stabbed, one fatally, late Thursday night. 
Davide Giri, a 30-year-old Columbia University student, was stabbed at the corner of 123rd Street and Amsterdam Avenue at around 10:54 p.m. He was pronounced dead at Mt. Sinai-St. Luke’s Hospital.
The second victim, a 27-year-old tourist from Italy, was found in the area of West 110th Street and Cathedral Parkway. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition. 
Police say while they were canvassing the area, the suspect was menacing a 29-year-old male with the knife. 
The 25-year-old suspect was taken into custody inside Central Park around West 104th Street and Central Park West. The knife was found on suspect. 
Police are continuing their investigation.
