Two NYPD horses broke free while an officer suffered a medical episode in Brooklyn Thursday.
Police say two officers assigned to a mounted unit were riding on East Eighth Street and Quentin Road around noon, when one of the officers suffered a minor medical episode.
Police say EMS was called to the scene and dismounted the horses. They say the horses became startled and broke free from the officer's hold.
The horses, Freedom and Sampson, were found 10 minutes later in front of 2800 Ocean Parkway, according to police.
Police say the officers were taken to NYU Langone.
