yesterdayPolice have identified a man who they say shot an on-duty sanitation worker in the leg Thursday morning.
He has been identified as 20-year-old Elijah Tracey.
Police say investigators found the 40-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the left leg in Midtown in front of 515 West 52 Street.
The he was taken to a hospital where he remains in stable condition at this hour.
DSNY says they are working with police in the investigation.
Residents who have information that could lead to an arrest are asked call police right away.
