NYPD increases security near synagogues for Rosh Hashanah

The NYPD says there are no identifiable threats at this time, but are sending additional resources to houses of worship out of an abundance of caution.

The NYPD is ramping up security near synagogues today.
Rosh Hashanah starts at sundown and the NYPD has plans to ramp up security at the Bronx Jewish Center at Pelham Parkway.
There is normally a police car parked outside. This is all in an effort to keep the community safe.
According to NYPD data, there were 200 bias attacks against Jews in the first half of this year. It's nearly double of what we saw in the first half of 2023.
