NYPD: Man arrested, charged with murder for fatal Tremont deli shooting

Police say the victim was likely a bystander in an armed robbery gone wrong that took place at 851 East Tremont Ave.

Police have arrested a 31-year-old man in connection to the fatal shooting of 29-year-old Stefon Barnes that took place just over two weeks ago.
Schward Bee, 31, is now facing charges of murder, robbery and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in connection to this incident.
Police say that Barnes was shot and killed at a deli early on March 31. They say that Barnes was likely a bystander in an armed robbery gone wrong that took place at 851 East Tremont Ave.
According to the NYPD, Bee allegedly entered the store with a firearm and attempted to remove property from someone. During the dispute, Bee discharged his gun and struck Barnes in the right thigh. Barnes died hours after the shooting.
