NYPD: Man connected to vandalism at 4 Riverdale synagogues arrested

The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force announced an arrest Saturday in the disturbing acts of vandalism at Bronx synagogues.
Police believe Jordan Burnette, 29, is responsible for targeting several synagogues last week.
Police say officers from the 50th Precinct spotted Burnett riding a bike against traffic. They say he fit the description of the suspect wanted for attacking four synagogues in Riverdale.
Police say they also obtained footage of the suspect throwing rocks at a van at one of the locations of the houses of worship that was vandalized. Burnette is charged with burglary as a hate crime. Police believe he is connected to all four synagogues attacks in Riverdale.
The four elected officials that represent Riverdale issued joint statement on arrest that reads in part, "We support the prosecution of this suspect under hate crime statutes... there must be a clear line drawn in the sand that we have no place for anti-Semitism or any bigotry-fueled violence in the Bronx or anywhere in New York."
