NYPD: Man punched, shoved onto Bronx subway tracks after dispute

According to the NYPD, the 44-year-old victim was believed to be intoxicated and had a dispute with another man in his 20s while on the southbound platform.

Police say a man was shoved onto the subway tracks Tuesday morning at the southbound B and D line in the Bronx.

Officers were dispatched to the Grand Concourse and Mount Eden Avenue station at around 6:15 a.m. where they found the 44-year-old victim with a laceration to the mouth and pain to his hip area.

According to the NYPD, the 44-year-old victim was believed to be intoxicated and had a dispute with another man in his 20s while on the southbound platform. The situation escalated and the suspect punched then pushed the victim onto the tracks, police say.

A passenger helped the victim onto the platform. The victim has been listed in stable condition.

The suspect fled the location in an unknown direction. No arrests have been made at this time.
