A man was shot multiple times on Soundview Avenue in the Bronx.

The 54-year-old man was shot twice in the arm and in the torso.

He was taken to Jacobi Hospital and is now said to be in stable condition, according to police.

Officers were called to 1003 Soundview Ave. just after 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Witnesses described hearing at least five gunshots.

Multiple evidence cones were scattered in front of a parked car along Soundview Avenue between Bruckner Boulevard and Fteley Avenue. The car door was open as police collected evidence in and around the vehicle.

Detectives went door-to-door to businesses to collect surveillance video.

Police say they are investigating the motive behind the shooting and whether or not the victim was the intended target.

Police say they are looking for a man with a dark complexion, last seen wearing a gray sweatsuit. He took off in an unknown direction.

Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
