A spa in Throgs Neck was recently shutdown for allegedly operating as a brothel.

The Spring Garden Spa on 3754 East Tremont Ave. now has signage from the NYPD on the front door that reads "restraining order” for prostitution

In April, News 12 reported a similar crackdown by the NYPD on a spa in Pelham Bay. The Asian Spa on Middletown Road had the same signage on the door. Sources say the incidents are connected.

Both spas are closed for business.

One resident says this business poses a safety issue.

"We got two schools down the block…I got my granddaughter and a whole bunch of nieces," said resident Jose.

News 12 reached out to the NYPD for more information and details surrounding the seizure.v
