Temperatures climbed to the upper-70s Monday, and some residents were out treating it like a summer day, even as leaves are already falling.
At Orchard Beach, residents were out playing handball and packing the boardwalk. Others were out with binoculars, eyeing the skies for passing planes.
At Pelham Bay Park, residents were out all day taking advantage of some late-season summer-like weather.
One couple was out celebrating an anniversary, and there was even a man swimming, although that is currently prohibited since lifeguards are no longer on duty.
Some residents questioned whether global warming had something to do with the warm weather.
