Five firefighters and a civilian were hospitalized when a fire truck crashed into a building in Gravesend Sunday, officials say.

Fire officials say it happened around 11:30 p.m. while firefighters were responding to reports of a structural fire at 8750 Bay Parkway.

The truck crashed into a building on Avenue U.

Officials evacuated five residents as a precaution.

There is no word yet on the extent of any of the injuries.

An investigation is ongoing.
