New York City officials are reporting that there are at least 100,000 positive coronavirus cases as of Monday night.

New York City officials are reporting that there are at least 100,000 positive coronavirus cases as of Monday night.
They say there are now more than 195,000 New Yorkers infected statewide.
Of those cases, at least 28,035 in Brooklyn are battling the disease. While there are at least 23,352 cases in the Bronx.
There are also more than 29,000 patients hospitalized, according to state statistics. The number of deaths in the city are at least 7,349.

Some city officials are calling for an in depth look at the rate the coronavirus is hitting minority communities.
Public Advocate Jumaane Williams joined Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and clergy from across the five boroughs in asking for the city to look into why the virus is killing people of color more than other communities.
Williams says he's been asking for a new policy to be adopted to address this issue. He has also recently laid out his own plan in his "response and recovery report."
