More than a dozen pre-K students are in their classrooms at P.S. 115 for the first time in months, but throughout the morning there were families with older children who were turned away.
There were several families who walked through the main door of the school only to have to turn back around.
The Department of Education changed the start of in-person classes for a majority of city students last week.
On Monday, the more than 90,000 kids at school are pre-k, 3-K and special education students
At P.S. 115, lines are painted on the ground so people remember to stay six feet apart.
The families are waiting in line and going in one at a time, each person getting their temperature checked.
Several parents tell News 12 they work every day and hope COVID-19 doesn’t spread so children can continue coming to school in-person.
