On-and-off downpours plagued Bronx commuters during the Monday evening rush home.
Though windy, the day remained sunny and humid though the late afternoon, when dark storm clouds began rolling through the borough.
By late Monday evening, bursts of powerful storms would send a downpour of rain before tapering off, only to come back again.
Despite the poor conditions, plenty of people were still seen going about their business, with umbrellas overhead.
The city warned residents that excessive runoff could cause the flooding of urban areas, highways, streets, underpasses, drainage areas and other low-lying spots.
