When the curtain goes up on new Broadway shows this fall, the stars will also be shining. Some big names are coming to the stage.
Melissa Etheridge isn't the only star who will add sparkle to Broadway when she begins performances of her autobiographical "My Window" next month.
Tony Award winner and Oscar nominee Leslie Odom Jr. stars as the title character in the first-ever revival of the comedy, "Purlie Victorious: A Non-Confederate Romp Through the Cotton Patch."
Odom says he has never done a play on Broadway before. He says, “I've never professionally spoken the words of a Black author on a stage."
Another Broadway revival brings a noted cast to the stage. Stephen Sondheim's "Merrily We Roll Along" will star Daniel Radcliffe who is making a return to Broadway beginning next month.
The musical "Harmony" is about a 1920s German singing group. And although Barry Manilow wont’ be in the show, he composed the music. It comes to Broadway this fall.
And they will be going for laughs in "Gutenberg! The Musical” which pairs original co-stars of "Book of Mormon" Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells.
The father-daughter team of Danny and Lucy DeVito will star in the play “I Need That," about a hoarder facing eviction.
