With ridership at an all-time high, one company says it's expecting more than one million people to travel on its rail line this Thanksgiving.
"This is our Super Bowl," Amtrak spokesperson Jason Abrams says. "We’re out to make sure our customers have the best possible experience."
The company says its using every train car in its fleet to meet demand.
“We have our full-time operations department to monitor the weather," Abrams says. "I know tomorrow is supposed to be rainy, we’re not going to run trains if it’s not safe to do so, but that’s under extreme circumstances."
The Latterman family from Milford is off the Maryland for the holiday.
“Relaxing trip rather than sitting in traffic all day," Jeremy Latterman says. "Last year, our car broke down kind of. We don’t trust it anymore."
Amtrak is reminding customers to get to their trains early, and if you see something suspicious, report it to conductors.
