Understanding and coming to grips with the Supreme Court’s possible decision to reverse Roe v. Wade can be challenging, especially for young people.

White Plains Superintendent of Schools Joseph Ricca has some advice for parents who want to have a conversation with their kids but aren't sure how to start.

He suggests:

• Speaking to them in an age-appropriate way. Maybe be more vague and give the basics details before diving into both sides of the issue.

• If you still aren't comfortable with talking to your kids yourself, speak to their teacher and see if there's a way they can talk to them about it.

A few commuters at the Dobbs Ferry train station told News 12 this morning they had tough conversations with their kids about it Tuesday night.

"She's 15 years old. She's really aware of her rights and what's happening. So, we're talking about what we're going to do to try and support keeping policies that support her freedoms," says one parent. "When having this conversation with your kids since it's dominating headlines in recent, just be open, straightforward and be real with your kids," adds another parent.

Mimi Rocah, the Westchester County District Attorney, opened up on her personal Twitter page about her conversation with her child. “My 14-year-old daughter was sitting on the couch this evening & crying. When I asked her why, she said, "What's happened to our country?" and told me she feels powerless. I was not prepared for that.”
