Parents and children flocked in front of the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club Navy Yard location to rally together after finding out from employees that it is closing.
Many of the adults in attendance Monday say they grew up going there and they fear where their children are going to go after school when it closes.
Community members tell News 12 there are no day care or after-school centers except this one in this area. Parents fear whoever buys this property won't offer similar services for children.
They plan on going to community council meetings in numbers to voice their concerns.
News 12 reached out to Boys and Girls Club for a response.
