Parents and students are angry over the potential co-location of the Success Academy Charter Elementary School.
The Department of Education is proposing the school move from Mott Haven to Junior High School 145 in Morrisania, but that location already houses three middle schools and a suspension center.
Junior High School 145 currently houses 920 students and bringing in the Success Academy Charter Elementary School could add 120 more students.
The DOE said in a statement, "When schools collaborate, share resources, and work to meet the needs of every child in the building, our students ultimately benefit."
Parents and students say they will protest the DOE proposal at its next meeting on April 29.
